The first metro car was rolled out for Tianjin Metro in June 2005. There are 25 train-sets will be built. Each train-set is comprised 4 cars, of which 2 are power and 2 are trailer. The vehicles adopted advanced technology such as VVVF inverter and type B aluminum alloy broad-body. The design speed is 80 km/h. The interior material meets the requirement of Germany standard DIN5510.
The car features modular design of interior and under-frame device, LED screen, emergency evacuate doors, micro-computer controlled brake system, electric plug sliding doors, train-set monitoring system, air conditioning unit, automatic train operation system, automatic public address, coach emergency alarming device, automatic train protection system and radio communication equipment.
